Does
Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film resist yellowing? |

A. |
Yes,
it resists yellowing because the film is constructed of thermoplastic
urethane, a tough, conformable material that is covered by a clear coat
layer. The film and clear coat layers contain UV protectants
to counteract harmful ultraviolet rays that can cause yellowing. |

Q. Does Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film stick
to bumpers? A. Yes Q. Why should I chose
Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film versus after market bug shields and
bras? A. There are several
reasons to choose our 3M product over other after market protection
options. 1.
First, our film is clear, so it is designed to
blend with your vehicles contours and color without detracting from its
beauty. 2.
Next, our 3M product will not move once installed
on the vehicle. Therefore,
there is no chance of our product rubbing against or hitting the area it is
applied on, which in many cases can cause more damage than the bug shields
and bra’s are designed to stop. 3.
Our 3M film is made of a tough thermoplastic
urethane which will not crack, yellow, or peel once installed. Bug Shields and bras over
a very short amount of time will dry and weather under the extreme heat and
driving conditions we experience in 4.
There is no special maintenance for our film
once installed. You
can wash and wax your entire car as you normally would without the need of
removing and re-installing tie-downs or re-tightening of screws and bolts as
often is the case with vehicle bras and bug shields. Q. Does

Once
applied, refrain from washing the vehicle in an automated car wash for 24 hours.
Washing after that time presents no problem, and no special care need be
taken for the film. |

Can
I use wax over Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film? |
|
A. |
Yes.
When waxing the vehicle, some wax may build up along the film edges. This can
easily be removed when dry with a soft cloth, such as a 3M™ High
Performance Cloth. Do not use any waxes containing dyes or waxes that are not
recommended for urethanes. Abrasive polishes and/or rubbing compounds are not
to be used. |

you paint or apply a clearcoat over the
Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film? |

No,
this is not recommended and is at your own risk. 3M film is supplied with an
OEM-approved clear coat which is not formulated to be over-printed, painted
or clear coated. |

Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film is most often used to cover the front
portion of the hood. 3M film is also commonly applied to painted bumpers,
mirror backs, truck bed rails, door handle inserts, door edges, rocker
panels, mirror backs, wheel openings, etc. Any painted surface of a car,
truck, van, SUV, RV, boat or motorcycle that is susceptible to bug damage and
rock chips can be covered with paint protection film. Since we do not use kits to install
the product, we are able to customize the installation to fit your vehicle
all the while providing maximum protection. |

A. Virtually any painted
surface you wish to protect can have our film applied over it. Think tool boxes, and just about
any painted plastic, rubber, fiberglass, and
metal.
